Cooperation Agreement has been signed between the University of Nevada,Reno and the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication
The Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication and the University of Nevada of the United States have signed The Cooperation Agreement. The Cooperation Agreement identifies the areas of cooperation as visits of faculty's teachers, exchange programs, joint research activities, participation in seminars and academic meetings, exchange of scientific materials and other information, and short-term academic programs.
Vusal Gasimli, Executive Director of CAERC (Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication), informed that the University of Nevada considers rapid innovation as the main factor of prosperity in a globalized and knowledge-based economy. The Innovation Ecosystem created for this purpose in university connects the university with industry and entrepreneurs, significantly contributes to economic development and job creation, and supports the implementation of student and faculty startups by prioritizing commercialization, regional cooperation, and competition between faculties. So far, Innovation Ecosystem startups have raised more than $ 70 million and more than 150 companies. At present, more than 20 companies operate in the Innovation Ecosystem at the University, which has created more than 300 jobs. The global technical hub named Reno-Tahoe created at university is technology center where industry leaders such as Apple, Google, Tesla, Amazon, Tesla Gigafactory, Microsoft Licensing, Switch, Panasonic, Sierra Nevada Corporation represented.
Professor Mehmet Serkan Tosun, Director of International Business Programs at the University of Nevada mentioned the main purpose of the agreement is to work together on the area of making economic analysis and research with scientific staff from the University of Nevada's School of Economics and the research group of CAERC, to increase the potential of Center's economic research and to develop international cooperation on this field.
It should be noted that the University of Nevada was founded in 1874 in Nevada, USA, and every year 5,100 students graduate from this university, and a total of more than 150 degrees and certificates are awarded. In 2019, the University of Nevada was selected as one of 130 universities by the Carnegie Classification of Higher Education Institutions as one of the most prestigious honorary titles for higher education, “R1- Higher Education Institution with the highest level of research activity”. This is especially true for universities which offer PhD study with exceptional research activities. The University of Nevada currently has more than 60 research centers and laboratories.
