The presentation of the textbook “Fundamentals of Public Relations” has been held
The presentation for the textbook “Fundamentals of Public Relations”, jointly prepared by the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication (CAERC) and Baku State University (BSU) within the framework of the 150th anniversary of Azerbaijan’s national press, has been held.
The event featured speeches by Vusal Gasimli, Executive Director of CAERC, Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor; Elchin Babayev, Rector of BSU; MPs Vuqar Rahimzade and Hikmat Mammadov; Vuqar Zifaroglu, Dean of the Faculty of Journalism at BSU; Qulu Maharramli, Head of the Department of Multimedia and Electronic Communication at BSU; and Yedgar Jafarov, Deputy Director of the Marketing Department at ABB and the editor of the book. The speakers emphasized the significance of the topics covered in the textbook.
It was noted that “Fundamentals of Public Relations” is a comprehensive work covering both the theoretical and practical foundations of the field. The book presents the historical development, theories, and key principles of public relations in detail. The authors explore important topics such as strategies, plans, and programs for managing relationships with audiences in the public and private sectors, as well as crisis management. The textbook also extensively covers media relations, social media engagement, emerging trends in the field, and the application of digital technologies and artificial intelligence. The publication is intended for university students majoring in journalism, communications, and management, as well as for PR professionals.
The textbook was developed under the scientific editorship of Professor Vusal Gasimli, Executive Director of CAERC. The authors of the publication are Vuqar Zifaroglu, Aynur Nasirova, Khatira Huseynova, Parvana Ibrahimova, Vafa Isgandarova, Afat Yaqubova, Vali Alibayov, Yedgar Jafarov, Zanura Talibova, and Natig Penahlı. The project coordinator is Zanura Talibova, Head of the Public Relations Department at CAERC.
The reviewers of the textbook include Professor Jahangir Mammadli, Head of the Department of National Press History at BSU, Doctor of Philology; Professor Qulu Maharramli, Head of the Department of Multimedia and Electronic Communication at BSU, Doctor of Philology; Professor Vuqar Rahimzade, Head of the Department of Journalism at Baku Slavic University, Doctor of Political Sciences; and Vusal Karimli, PhD in Pedagogy and Deputy Director of UNEC Business School at Azerbaijan State University of Economics.
The event was attended by public relations officers from state and private institutions, media representatives, PR specialists, BSU faculty, and students.
Following the presentation, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication and Baku State University.
