International certification training for exporters was conducted by the "Azexport" portal and the Latvian "STC" company
An online training session was conducted for local entrepreneurs through the joint organization of the "Azexport.az" portal, operated by the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication (CAERC), the "MeetUp Networking Club," and the Latvian company "STC." The primary objective of the event was to inform local entrepreneurs about the required certificates, organic production, and packaging standards to ensure a more competitive and seamless access of products manufactured in Azerbaijan to international markets, particularly to European markets.
Aykhan Gadashov, Head of the "Azexport.az" portal, stated that Azerbaijan's agricultural products distinguish themselves through their high quality. Legal validation of this quality via respective standards carries immense significance within the export process. He emphasized the importance of continuously organizing such events and meetings to elevate the awareness level of entrepreneurs.
Within the scope of the training program, specialists from Latvia delivered successive presentations analyzing topics essential for expanding export potential. Professor Aleksandr Zhuykov, Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, delivered a presentation on "The Fundamental Requirements of Organic Farming," bringing the scientific and practical fundamentals of the field to the attention of the participants. Subsequently, Daiga Tukisha, Chief Expert at "STC," spoke about the regulations on the "Processing and Labeling of Organic Products," highlighting the role of proper packaging in international markets. In the final presentations, international expert Aleksandr Vovk shared detailed insights on "The Certification Process of Organic Farming" and "The Requirements of the GlobalG.A.P. Standard," explaining the stages of obtaining certificates to the attendees.
During the interactive training, local manufacturers and exporters directed their questions concerning international product certification procedures, technical requirements of foreign markets, and challenges encountered in practice directly to the specialists. All queries raised by the participants were comprehensively answered by the experts, who provided recommendations across the relevant fields.
