Azerbaijan and Türkiye: Leading through unity in global crises
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev's visit to Türkiye on June 10 reinforced the strong strategic partnership between the two nations. Discussions with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan focused on energy, trade, defense, and transportation, including expanding the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway and the Middle Corridor. Both countries aim to increase bilateral trade to $15 billion and continue collaborating on major projects like TANAP and the Southern Gas Corridor. Recent energy agreements between SOCAR and BOTAŞ further strengthen ties, while Türkiye and Azerbaijan remain key players in regional stability and development. Their unified approach amid global crises underscores their growing influence in Eurasia and beyond.
