September Issue of “Export Review” Published
The Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication has presented the September 2026 issue of its “Export Review”. According to the review, Azerbaijan’s non-oil sector exports, excluding non-monetary gold, amounted to USD 2.81 billion in January-August 2026, increasing by 17.6% compared to the same period of 2025.
In August this year, Azerbaijan’s non-oil sector exports increased by 13% compared to the same month of the previous year, reaching USD 350.8 million. During this period, exports of food products amounted to USD 80.7 million. Exports of non-food products increased by 11.4%, reaching USD 251.1 million.
In January-August this year, exports of sugar increased 2.3-fold compared to the same period of the previous year, while exports of cotton yarn increased by 62.2%, aluminum and articles thereof by 42.8%, vegetable and animal fats and oils by 30.2%, iron and steel and articles thereof by 20.5%, cotton fiber by 17.8%, fruits and vegetables by 13.7%, and tea by 12.1%.
In January-August 2026, exports of agricultural products increased by 19.2% to USD 732 million, while exports of agro-industrial products increased by 22.1% to USD 255.8 million. Overall, combined exports of agricultural and agro-industrial products increased by 19.9%, reaching USD 987.8 million.
During the period under review, gold, excluding non-monetary gold, ranked first among non-oil sector products exported, with a value of USD 271.2 million. Copper ores and concentrates ranked second at USD 183.7 million, while tomatoes ranked third at USD 172.2 million.
In August 2026, gold ranked first among non-oil sector products exported, with a value of USD 36.8 million. Copper ores and concentrates ranked second at USD 31.7 million, while peaches, including nectarines, ranked third at USD 29.4 million.
In January-August 2026, non-oil sector products, excluding non-monetary gold, worth USD 814.2 million were exported to the Russian Federation, USD 435 million to Türkiye, USD 386.5 million to Georgia, USD 284.4 million to Switzerland, and USD 101.1 million to Ukraine.
In August 2026, non-oil sector products worth USD 82.5 million were exported to the Russian Federation, USD 58.5 million to Georgia, USD 44.4 million to Türkiye, USD 37.9 million to Switzerland, and USD 16.1 million to Ukraine.
The ranking of non-state exporting entities for January-August 2026 included the following companies among the top ten: the Representative Office of “Azerbaijan International Mining Company Limited” in the Republic of Azerbaijan, “Prime Cotton” LLC, “Azerbaijan Sugar Production Association” LLC, “Baku Steel Company” CJSC, “Prime Export” LLC, “Tabaterra” LLC, “Vvest Stream” LLC, “Agrarco” LLC, “Silk Way Airlines” LLC, and “P-Aqro” LLC.
The list of state-owned companies participating in export operations in the non-oil sector, excluding non-monetary gold, is headed by the “Marketing and Economic Operations” Department of the State Oil Company of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The list also includes “AzerGold” CJSC, “SOCAR Polymer” LLC, “Azeraluminium” LLC, “Azerpambig Agro-Industrial Complex” LLC, “Azerenerji” OJSC, “Azerbaijan Airlines” CJSC, “Nakhchivan Energy” LLC, “SOCAR Cape” LLC, and “Azeripak” OJSC.
In January-August 2026, the Azerbaijan Space Agency (Azercosmos) provided telecommunications services worth a total of USD 17.4 million to approximately 95 companies from 36 countries worldwide. During this period, export operations accounted for 61% of total revenues. The top five destinations for exports of satellite telecommunications services during the reporting period were the United Kingdom with USD 2.8 million, Luxembourg with USD 2.1 million, Türkiye with USD 874.7 thousand, Pakistan with USD 776.5 thousand, and Tanzania with USD 437.2 thousand. Satellite telecommunications services, considered a new-generation service export, play an important role in diversifying service exports.
