A Hungarian researcher who completed his internship at CAERC presented his study
The Hungarian researcher Tas-Szilárd Kelemen from the Mathias Corvinus Collegium has completed his internship program at the Turkic World Research Center, which operates under the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication (CAERC). He finished his academic research and presented the results.
T. Kelemen’s study, titled “Economic Integration of Turkic States: Regional Synergies in Trade, Transport, Energy and Digital Innovation,” focuses on the economic integration processes within the Organization of Turkic States (OTS). The research analyzes the increase of trade turnover among Turkic states, the role of the Middle Corridor and other transport routes, cooperation in the energy sector — especially green energy initiatives — as well as digitalization, the “Digital Silk Road,” and new steps in the digital economy.
During the presentation at CAERC, the researcher spoke about the OTS framework documents, the opportunities created by new institutions such as the Turkic Investment Fund and the Turkic Green Finance Council, and progress in digital integration and liberalization of trade in services. He also emphasized Azerbaijan’s important role in deepening economic integration with Turkic states, including its initiatives on the Middle Corridor, the Zangazur corridor, green energy, and digital connectivity.
The research results contribute to evidence-based policy recommendations aimed at further deepening economic integration in the Turkic world, expanding trade and transport links, and strengthening sustainable cooperation in energy and digital fields. This collaboration also supports stronger academic and educational ties between Azerbaijan and Hungary, and generally helps reinforce intellectual and institutional connections across the Turkic world.
