The Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication (CAERC), in cooperation with the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Azerbaijan Insurers Association, held the presentation ceremony of the “InsurTech” textbook.

The textbook, written under the scientific editorship of CAERC Executive Director, Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor Vusal Gasimli, is the first fundamental academic publication in Azerbaijan to systematically analyze the digital transformation of the insurance sector.

Representatives of state institutions, the academic community, and the insurance sector took part in the event.

Speaking at the event, Professor Vusal Gasimli noted that the textbook examines the synthesis of insurance and technology not only from the perspective of technical innovation, but also through the prism of strategic management, the regulatory environment, and market behavior, thereby forming a new intellectual framework for the country’s insurance ecosystem.

Rector of the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Urkhan Alakbarov emphasized that the textbook serves as an important academic source for improving the quality of education in insurance and finance specialties at higher education institutions.

Director General of the Central Bank of the Republic of Azerbaijan Vusal Gurbanov highlighted the importance of aligning technological innovation in the insurance sector with the regulatory environment, noting that the “InsurTech” textbook reflects a balanced and systematic approach in this area.

Chair of the Supervisory Board of the Azerbaijan Insurers Association and Chair of the Management Board of PASHA Life Insurance OJSC Ulviya Jabbarova noted that the textbook’s content, grounded in real-sector experience, holds practical value for insurance professionals and emphasized the role of InsurTech solutions in developing customer-centric service models.

Executive Director of the Azerbaijan Insurers Association Elmar Mirsalayev stated that this is the first textbook in the country to comprehensively cover the topic of InsurTech, adding that it forms a strategic vision for the future development of the sector.

Executive Director of the Compulsory Insurance Bureau Vusal Masiyev emphasized the role of digital solutions, particularly blockchain and automated systems, in strengthening transparency and trust in insurance activities.

It was noted that the “InsurTech” textbook is of significant importance for the academic study of digital transformation in the insurance sector, the application of international experience in the national context, and the integration of modern technological approaches into the educational process.

The project is led by Head of the State Programs Department at CAERC, PhD in Economics Latif Zeynalli.

The textbook was authored by 12 contributors representing CAERC, the Central Bank of the Republic of Azerbaijan, as well as PASHA Life Insurance OJSC, AzSigorta OJSC, Xalq Hayat Insurance Company OJSC, PASHA Insurance OJSC, Mega Insurance OJSC, the Compulsory Insurance Bureau, Doga Sigorta, Insurtech Hub, Allianz Turkey, and Zurich Life and Pensions.
