According to the January issue of the "Export Review" prepared by the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication, Azerbaijan's total exports from January to December 2023 amounted to 33.9 billion US dollars. Non-oil sector exports during this period increased by 9.8%, reaching 3.3 billion US dollars. The export of food products in the same period amounted to 928.2 million US dollars.
Over the 12 months of 2023, there was a notable increase in various sectors: electricity exports rose by 3.3 times, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverage exports increased by 1.9 times, plastic and related product exports grew by 19.3%, ferrous metal product exports increased by 13.3%, and fruit and vegetable exports saw an 8.7% increase.
From January to December 2023, the statistical value of joint agricultural and agro-industrial product exports increased by 6.2%, reaching 969.2 million US dollars. The value generated by agro-industrial products, a significant component of non-oil/gas exports, rose by 3.2% compared to the corresponding period last year, amounting to 201 million US dollars.
In December of the previous year, non-oil exports increased by 3.8%, totaling 314.3 million US dollars. Food product exports reached 106.6 million US dollars with a 0.9% increase, while non-food product exports amounted to 207.7 million US dollars, marking a 5.4% increase.
