A joint project to prepare the book "Economy of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation" has been initiated between the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication (CAERC) and the Statistical, Economic, and Social Research and Training Center for Islamic Countries (SESRIC) of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). This project is being implemented within the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the two institutions.
During the online meeting, Prof. Dr. Vusal Gasimli, the Executive Director of CAERC, provided information about the scope of the book "Economy of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation", a collaborative effort between the two institutions. He emphasized that the preparation of joint research material on the collective actions of OIC countries and the sharing of best practices in areas such as pandemic preparedness, climate change, transition to renewable energy, digital transformation, and achieving sustainable development goals would contribute to common efforts. This collaboration will also play a crucial role in addressing the economic challenges faced by OIC countries. V. Gasimli underscored Azerbaijan's special priority for cooperation with OIC countries, highlighting successful collaboration within both bilateral and international organizations, along with Azerbaijan's steps in strengthening Islamic solidarity.
In the working-level meeting, Mazhar Huseyn, the Director of SESRIC's Research Department, and Kenan Bağci, Senior Researcher, provided information about the methodology of the book and SESRIC's support in involving authors from the 57 OIC member countries. They emphasized the importance of joint activities and information exchange with local research institutions to address economic challenges faced by member countries.
The online discussion included the participation of Ramil Huseyn, Deputy Executive Director of CAERC, Ayaz Museyibov, Adviser to the Executive Director of CAERC, Gunay Guliyeva, Head of the Economic Analysis Department, Zanura Talibova, Head of the Public Relations Department, and Vusala Jafarova, Senior Adviser of the Strategic Planning Department.
