CAERC Hosted a Meeting with Heads of IT Companies

 

Executive Director of the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication (CAERC) Vusal Gasimli held a meeting with heads of companies of the Azerbaijan Innovations Export Consortium (AZINNEX). Executive Director of the CAERC Vusal Gasimli spoke about the policy implemented in the sphere of digitalization of public administration, economic and social processes, including e-government, e-commerce, e-agriculture, e-banking, e-health, and e-education. He said, “In the context of the fourth industrial revolution, Azerbaijani IT companies have significant opportunities to increase the competitiveness of the economy in the country, digital transformation, the development of smart urban and smart rural projects. In particular, the export of IT products means new added value and high-income jobs”.

Representatives of the largest information technology companies in Azerbaijan (CyberNet, BestComp, B.EST Solutions, IDRAK, Ultra, SINAM, RISK, Innovation Center) made proposals to further improve the digital ecosystem in the country. In the context of public-private dialogue, it was decided to discuss the proposals in the Commission on Business Environment and International Rankings.

During the discussion, the participants also discussed CAERC innovative projects (DTH, Azexport, EnterpriseAzerbaijan) and cooperation prospects between AZINNEX members. Increasing the export of IT services through the Azexport portal, which promotes the "Made in Azerbaijan" brand to the world market, the cooperation of the Digital Trade Consortium (part of the DTH) with AZINNEX, and the possibility of placing IT projects at foreign crowdfunding platforms were among the topics of the discussions.
