Vusala Jafarova, Head of the Projects Department of the Center, briefed the guests on the activities of the Center and digital platform projects, as well as economic reforms, economic achievements, business environment, the process of attracting foreign investment in the restoration of liberated territories. Furthermore, she informed the guests about the priority areas identified for the coming years, development goals, economic diversification and inclusive growth goals, development of regional transit and potential investment areas.
Mr. Drew Lebkueker from the United States Embassy Baku, who is responsible for economic affairs, highlighted that diplomatic relations between the two countries are being constantly developed in the political, economic and cultural spheres, and praised the economic growth achieved by Azerbaijan despite the effects of the pandemic. He said the embassy has been ready to provide the necessary support for the establishment of links between the CAERC and the respective US think tanks to conduct joint research to enhance economic and trade ties.
The meeting attended by Ayaz Museyibov, Head of the Strategic Planning Department of the CAERC, and Yusif Abasov, Economic Adviser of the Embassy was followed by exchange of views on the country’s priorities for the financial sector, foreign trade, competition policy and involvement of foreign direct investments in the regional development.
