The next meeting of the “Human Capital and Education” Working Group was held to review the results of the work carried out during the first half of 2026 under the “Education Meeting the Requirements of the 21st Century” objective of the “Socio-Economic Development Strategy of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2022–2026”.
The meeting discussed the implementation status of measures carried out in the field of education, the results achieved, existing challenges, and priority areas for the next period.
During his speech, the head of the Working Group and Deputy Minister of Science and Education Kanan Karimzade provided information on the results achieved in the implementation of the Strategy. The Deputy Minister noted that improving the quality of education and its international competitiveness is one of the key priorities.
Deputy Executive Director of the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication (CAERC) Tarana Salifova highlighted the important steps ahead, taking into account that the implementation period of the Strategy will end this year. She emphasized the importance of timely and results-oriented implementation of the necessary measures to achieve the final targets in line with the established strategic framework.
Ilkin Gasimov, Chief advisor of the Economic analysis division of CAERC, presented the monitoring report for the first half of 2026. The presentation provided information on the implementation status of target indicators, results achieved, existing challenges, proposals, and measures planned for the next period.
Members of the Working Group, as well as representatives of the Ministry of Science and Education’s administration and relevant structural divisions, delivered speeches and shared their views and proposals. The results of the reforms implemented in the field of education were positively assessed during the discussions.
