A training and mentoring program was held in Guba, jointly organized by the "Enterprise Azerbaijan" portal of the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication (CAERC) and the Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University (ASPU). The program, themed "Commercialization of Science: Formation and Development of Startup Projects," was conducted in partnership with the Guba Businessmen Support Platform (GBSP/QİAD) and the Khinalig Tourism Development Support Public Union. The event, held at the Guba branch of ASPU, aimed to contribute to the development of the innovation and startup ecosystem in the region.
Associate Professor Isa Gasimov, Head of the "Enterprise Azerbaijan" portal, provided detailed information on bringing startup projects from the idea stage to the market, the commercialization of scientific research, the stages of startup formation and development, as well as investment opportunities. Training participants gained practical knowledge based on real-world examples and the opportunity to structure their projects more systematically.
Following the training, an info session was held regarding the global innovation program "Startup School 4: Five Continents – 500 Startups," implemented by the "Enterprise Azerbaijan" portal. It was noted that the startup projects emerging in Guba as a result of these trainings will receive support within the framework of this program.
During the event, representatives of the partner organizations spoke about the ongoing work to develop entrepreneurship and innovative initiatives in the region, emphasizing the role of universities in the formation of a knowledge-based economy.
Jabbar Heybatov, Chairman of the Board of GBSP, stated that conducting practical trainings in the regions is of particular importance for the development of entrepreneurship. Yusif Abayev, an employee of the Guba branch of ASPU and Chairman of the Khinalig Tourism Development Support Public Union, also highlighted the significance of the "Enterprise Azerbaijan" portal's projects in supporting the innovative initiatives of regional youth.
