A meeting was held at the "Azexport" portal, operated by the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication (CAERC), with a representative of a local enterprise engaged in the production of medicinal leeches. The primary topics of the meeting were the expansion of the export geography for Azerbaijani-produced leech products amidst increasing demand in international markets, the existing potential in the global market, and the joint steps to be taken.

During the meeting with entrepreneur Shaiq Gasimov, the head of the "Azexport" portal, Aykhan Gadashov, stated that interest in medicinal leeches and natural treatment remedies has increased sharply in the global market in recent years, creating opportunities for local producers to access new markets.

The head of the enterprise, Sh. Gasimov, pointed out that the cultivated leeches fully meet international standards in terms of ecological purity and medical quality indicators, and emphasized that there is sufficient potential to increase production volume. During the meeting, particular emphasis was placed on the importance of joint efforts in obtaining international certificates, correctly managing customs procedures, and adapting to the requirements of importing countries to ensure the integration of entrepreneurs producing products in this category into foreign markets.

As a result of the discussions, it was decided to carry out joint activities to organize the export of leech products produced in Azerbaijan to European, Gulf, and Asian countries with high purchasing power.
