Metanet Rasulova, a manager at the CAERC, attended a seminar in Vienna, Austria, organized by the International Monetary Fund and the Joint Vienna Institute, on “Macroeconomic Management in Resource-Rich Countries.”

During the seminar, participants received both theoretical and practical training on comparing macroeconomic indicators of resource-rich countries with those of other economies. Topics included analyzing macroeconomic data in resource-rich countries, determining the optimal use, saving, or investment of revenues from natural resource sales, and addressing institutional considerations.

Additionally, various scenarios were discussed for addressing challenges such as unexpected resource expenditures or drops in resource prices through macroeconomic policy measures. The seminar brought together more than 30 representatives from countries including Russia, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Georgia, and others.
