The CAERC, together with the “One-Window” Export Support Center and the Food Safety Agency, organized a seminar on “The Importance and Role of Food Safety in Export Operations.”

The event began with a welcome from Nicat Hacizade, Manager of the One-Window Export Support Center, who highlighted that the training aimed to educate business entities involved at all stages of the food chain on resolving challenges and disputes that may arise during export operations. He emphasized that a unified state policy, regulation, and control in the food sector facilitates entrepreneurs’ compliance with registration, sanitary, hygiene, veterinary, and phytosanitary standards.

Balarahim Guliyev, Deputy Chairman of the Food Safety Agency (AQTA), spoke next. He outlined recent reforms and the introduction of modern standards in agriculture and the food industry, stressing that oversight of food safety during local export operations has been significantly enhanced. He noted that these reforms would boost exports in Azerbaijan’s agriculture and food sectors and ensure the production of high-quality, safe products that meet both domestic and international consumer demands.

During the seminar, Nubar Huseynli, Head of AQTA’s Certification and Registration Department, briefed exporters on the required certificates for food exports, application procedures, necessary documents, and the risk levels and analysis at each stage of food production, as well as the implementation of risk-based state control.

The seminar concluded with a Q&A session, where participants’ questions were addressed and collaboration opportunities were discussed.
