Vusal Qasimli, Executive Director of the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication (CAERC), received representatives of the Asian Development Bank (ADB). The delegation was led by Nariman Mannapbekov, Head of the ADB Azerbaijan Resident Mission. During the meeting, an extensive discussion was held on ADB’s ongoing projects in Azerbaijan’s financial and energy sectors. The delegation and CAERC also discussed priority areas for the upcoming Country Partnership Strategy for Azerbaijan for 2019–2023.
During the exchange of views, focus areas and sectors were outlined to ensure that ADB’s planned credit projects and technical assistance over the next five years align with national priorities and the directions of the Strategic Roadmaps. Opportunities for future cooperation in SME regulation assessment, know-how, and innovation technology transfer were also explored.
The meeting highlighted the macroeconomic stability and sustained economic development achieved in Azerbaijan as a result of economic reforms led by President Ilham Aliyev.
Rashad Huseynov, Acting Head of CAERC’s Projects Department, and Vusale Jafarova, Strategic Analysis and Planning Manager, also participated in the meeting.
