The Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication (CAERC), in collaboration with the World Bank, organized a knowledge fair titled “Leveraging Transport and Logistics for Economic Opportunities.” The event presented the results of the World Bank’s analyses and assessments in this field.
During the opening speech, CAERC Executive Director Vüsal Qasımlı highlighted that Azerbaijan’s significant economic reforms have modernized the country’s transport infrastructure, which plays a crucial role in the development of the non-oil sector. Efforts have been made to expand transit capabilities, create modern transport networks, and enhance the country’s transit potential. Under the leadership of President İlham Əliyev, Azerbaijan is being developed into a major regional transport and logistics hub, generating substantial political and economic dividends and strengthening the country’s regional and global position.
Following the opening, Navid Hasan Naqvi, the World Bank’s Country Manager for Azerbaijan, explained the objectives of the knowledge fair, noting that the Bank implements a range of projects in the country. The fair showcased the application of international best practices and advanced technologies in transport and logistics to strengthen Azerbaijan’s economic opportunities.
