A meeting was held at the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication (CAERC) of the Republic of Azerbaijan with a delegation of the International Trade Centre (ITC).

Receiving the delegation, Executive Director of CAERC Vusal Qasimli provided information about the economic reforms carried out in Azerbaijan in recent years. He stated that the Azexport.az portal, the “One-Window” Export Support Center and the Digital Trade Hub, established upon the initiative of President Ilham Aliyev, have jointly created an ecosystem that forms the basis for the development of e-trade, e-commerce and e-payment systems.

“As a result of the functioning of this ecosystem, non-oil exports from the country have been simplified and digitalized, and the geography and product composition of exports have been significantly diversified. The ecosystem created by CAERC also supports exporters in certification, transportation, logistics and customs procedures,” he noted.

Head of the Eastern Europe and Central Asia Division of the International Trade Centre (ITC), Yelena Boutrimova, emphasized that the support provided to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Azerbaijan is noteworthy and stated that they support CAERC’s efforts to expand SMEs’ access to European markets. It was noted that the International Trade Centre could support the sale of Azerbaijani products in the US market through Amazon and eBay via the Azexport portal.

Following the discussions, the delegation also became acquainted with the “One-Window” Export Support Center and described the conditions created there for exporters as a good practice.
