Vusal Qasimli, Executive Director of the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication (CAERC) of the Republic of Azerbaijan, received Kestutis Yankauskas, Head of the Delegation of the European Union (EU) to Azerbaijan.
During the meeting, Vusal Qasimli provided detailed information about the activities of CAERC as well as the ongoing economic reform process in the country. He noted that in the “Doing Business 2018” report Azerbaijan advanced by 8 positions to rank 57th. This fact alone demonstrates that the reform process implemented in the country is recognized and highly evaluated by international organizations. Azerbaijan’s political and economic influence at the international level continues to grow. The Executive Director also emphasized that Azerbaijan is interested in successfully continuing and expanding economic relations with European Union member states.
Kestutis Yankauskas, Head of the EU Delegation to Azerbaijan, highlighted the EU’s strong interest in further deepening cooperation with Azerbaijan. The Ambassador stated that he would spare no effort to expand bilateral relations. He also recalled that the EU Eastern Partnership Summit would be held at the end of the year and noted that the summit would contribute positively to strengthening relations.
Following the discussions, Kestutis Yankauskas visited the “One-Window” Export Support Center. Detailed information about the Center’s activities was presented to the Ambassador.
