The Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication (CAERC) held its next public lecture on “Economic Reforms in Azerbaijan: Achievements and Prospects” at the Azerbaijan University of Cooperation. The opening of the lecture was delivered by Bayali Atashov, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs at the Azerbaijan University of Cooperation, Doctor of Economics, and Professor. He emphasized the great importance of organizing a lecture on such a topic at the university and noted that students entering the labor market will play a special role in the implementation of the Strategic Roadmaps.
Fikret Guliyev, Vice-Rector of the Azerbaijan University of Cooperation, provided students with detailed information on the essence and purpose of the lecture.
Following this, Ramil Huseyn, Head of the Strategic Planning and Development Department at CAERC, began his lecture on “Economic Reforms in Azerbaijan: Achievements and Prospects.” Huseyn thanked the university administration for creating favorable conditions for the lecture and stressed that CAERC’s goal in organizing such series of meetings at Azerbaijani universities is to raise awareness about economic reforms, provide professors and students with comprehensive information, and learn their opinions on the reform process.
Huseyn also presented detailed information on the main directions of economic reforms in Azerbaijan, the development observed in the non-oil sector as a result of these reforms, state support provided to entrepreneurs, promotion of exports, growth in non-oil sector exports in 2017, the adoption of Strategic Roadmaps, and the monitoring of their implementation outcomes.
