The Executive Director of the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication, Vusal Gasimli, received a delegation from the Asian Development Bank (ADB). The delegation, which included Director of Economic Research Edmon Ginting, economist Amy Hampel-Milagrosa, and manager Aziz Heydarov, was provided with detailed information on the economic reforms being implemented in the country and the monitoring and evaluation results of the Strategic Road Maps. It was particularly emphasized that as a result of the economic reforms carried out in Azerbaijan, the country currently outperforms most ADB member states in the Global Competitiveness Report. This creates broader opportunities for cooperation with international and regional financial institutions interested in partnering with Azerbaijan.
The meeting also addressed the preparation of the Asian Development Bank’s Country Diagnostic Study for Azerbaijan. During the discussions, reforms in human capital, productivity, and trade development were highlighted, along with the country’s medium-term development strategy and the priority areas of the ADB’s Country Partnership Strategy for Azerbaijan for 2019–2023.
