Executive Director of the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication, Doctor in Economics, Professor Vusal Gasimli had meetings with heads of think tanks within the frame of the international conference on “Central and South Asia: Regional Connectivity. Challenges and Opportunities” held in Tashkent. Among them were the Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation Organization (CAREC), the Institute of Economic Analysis and Reforms of Uzbekistan, and the Institute of Forecasting and Macroeconomic Research.
During the meetings, V.Gasimli provided information about the improved position of Azerbaijan in international ratings due to the systemic economic reforms under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev. He shared the CAERC experience in the development of reforms, as well as their implementation, monitoring, and evaluation. He also emphasized the practice of formation of reforms through Azranking.az portal and carrying out monitoring and evaluation of state programs on the Monitoring.az portal.
At the same time, the opportunities of expanding economic and trade relations between Azerbaijan and Central Asia and South Asia countries were reviewed during the meetings. V.Gasimli noted that the transport and logistic infrastructure created by Azerbaijan, including the Zangezur corridor and Alat Free Economic Zone, have broad opportunities in the connection between Central/South Asia and Europe.
