An automated data exchange mechanism has been established between the “Azexport” portal, operated by the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication (CAERC), and “GS1 Azerbaijan.”

As a result of this integration, technical work has commenced to facilitate the more efficient and convenient transfer of data from local companies registered in the “GS1 Azerbaijan” database to the “Azexport” portal. This initiative is based on the Memorandum of Understanding previously signed between “Azexport” and “GS1 Azerbaijan.”

According to Aykhan Gadashov, Director of the “Azexport” portal, the integration offers new opportunities not only for producers but also for consumers. Specifically, consumers can now use the “GTIN (Global Trade Item Number) Search” section of the “Azexport” portal by entering a number beginning with '476' to obtain detailed product information. This information includes the product name, image, unit of measurement, quantity, type of packaging, classification, producer’s name, and tax identification number (TIN).

Mr. Gadashov further noted that in the next phase of development, the “GS1 Azerbaijan” recognition mark will be displayed on the product information panel. This enhancement is expected to increase the security and reliability of digital data and contribute to the expansion of the portal’s information database.
