The winner of the “StartUp School 2 – AI for Green Solidarity” project, organized by the “Enterprise Azerbaijan” portal, which operates under the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication, was the “AgroChat” team from Nakhchivan State University. As the winning team of the project, which was jointly implemented with the Center for Independent Entrepreneurship of the University of Nevada, USA, and the German Artificial Intelligence Center, the “AgroChat” team earned the opportunity to participate in I2B trainings in the United States. The team will represent Azerbaijan in these international sessions.
By the judges' decision, second place in the project was awarded to the “ClearPath Shepherd” team from the Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University, while the “YellowGo” team from CZU Prague University in the Czech Republic secured third place.
The hackathon stage, conducted as part of the “Graduation Day” activities, also saw the “ClearPath Shepherd” project emerge as the winner. During the hackathon, the teams presented solutions to tasks assigned by mentors during the Pre-Hackathon stage. After evaluation by the judges, the winning project was selected.
It is worth noting that the jury for the “StartUp School 2 – AI for Green Solidarity” project comprised distinguished experts, including:
- Mehmet Serkan Tosun, Director of the Ozmen Entrepreneurship Center at the University of Nevada, USA,
- Nicat Mehdiyev, Senior Researcher at the German Center for Artificial Intelligence,
- Rana Humbatova, Deputy Director of the State Agency for Renewable Energy Sources,
- Baba Aghayev, Executive Director of Sabah.Hub and Vizam.az, and
- Leyla Jahangirova, Chief Specialist at Umico.
The project, which spanned nearly a year, was supported by esteemed mentors such as:
- Professors Mehmet Tosun and Matt Westfield from the University of Nevada, USA,
- Professor Andreas Emrich and Senior Researcher Nijat Mehdiyev from the German Artificial Intelligence Center,
- Professor Ünsal Sığrı, Vice-Rector of OSTİM Technical University in Turkey,
- Professor Melike Aktaş Bozkurt, Head of the English Program of the Management Information Systems Department,
- Professor Eldrid Yordan from the University of Johannesburg, South Africa,
- Senior Software Engineer Tarlan Süleymanov from the University of Oxford,
- Paveł Pietrasienski, Program Coordinator of the Ozmen Entrepreneurship Center and Associate Professor at the Warsaw School of Economics,
- Metanat Musayeva, Head of the “Enterprise Azerbaijan” portal,
- Gunay Kazımova, Senior Consultant on Artificial Intelligence at Mercedes-Benz Consulting GmbH, and
- Thierry Cellerin, Director and Founder of “Buzzfactory.”
The winners were presented with international certificates, gifts, and medals by the project partners, including:
- Anar Jafarov, Director of the Agrarian Innovation Center,
- Rustam Hasanov, Advisor to the Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources, and
- Rana Humbatova, Deputy Director of the State Agency for Renewable Energy Sources.
The first-place team, “AgroChat,” was awarded a trophy and gifts by Metanat Musayeva, Head of the “Enterprise Azerbaijan” portal. Additional gifts were provided by the Irshad chain of stores and the Bulutistan company.
