Nijat Hajizadeh, Head of the division at the CAERC, delivered a presentation at the online conference organized by the Statistical, Economic, and Social Research and Training Centre for Islamic Countries (SESRIC). His presentation, titled "Export Diversification and Sophistication," was part of the event "Diagnostics and Analysis of Markets with High Export Potential for Small and Medium-Sized Entrepreneurs." In his address, Mr. Hajizadeh provided an overview of export diversification policies, the dynamics of economies with export concentration, determinants of export diversification and calculation methods, and shared insights into countries implementing sophistication policies and their global rankings.

The event also featured presentations and discussions from officials of the Ministry of Investment, Trade, and Industry of Malaysia and the Ministry of Trade of Turkey, who addressed topics impacting the development of small and medium enterprises (SMEs).

The purpose of the event was to offer insights into the primary challenges faced by SMEs in diagnosing and analyzing markets with high export potential, emphasizing the empowerment of women and young entrepreneurs in OIC countries. The training introduced participants to alternative tools and methodologies for conducting market analysis.
