The next meeting of the "Innovation" Working Group was held to ensure the full and timely implementation of the action directions outlined in the Action Plan of the "2022-2026 Socio-Economic Development Strategy of the Republic of Azerbaijan" (Creative and Innovative Society). The meeting reviewed the monitoring and evaluation report on the implementation of the Strategy’s 2024 goals for the first half of the year.
Samir Mammadov, the Chairman of the Working Group, Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport delivered the opening speech, highlighting the purpose of the meeting and the work accomplished during the reporting period. Tarana Salifova, Advisor to the Executive Director of the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication, provided information on the key indicators from the monitoring conducted.
Agil Asadov, the Deputy Chairman of the Working Group and Head of the Strategic Planning Department of CAERC, presented the monitoring and evaluation report, emphasizing the progress made towards the target indicators, the main challenges encountered, and the recommendations provided.
Following the presentations, members of the Working Group held discussions on the report, sharing their views and suggestions.
For information, it should be noted that, by the Order of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan No. 487s dated June 12, 2023, eight working groups were established to coordinate the activities of state bodies to ensure the full, timely, and effective implementation of the measures outlined in the "2022-2026 Socio-Economic Development Strategy of the Republic of Azerbaijan." The "Innovation" Working Group is responsible for the implementation of Goal 3.2 of the Strategy and coordinates the activities of the relevant state bodies.
In addition to the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport and CAERC, the "Innovation" Working Group includes representatives from the Ministries of Economy, Science and Education, Foreign Affairs, Finance, Labor and Social Protection of the Population, Justice, Defense Industry, Agriculture, Culture, and Energy. It also includes the Central Bank, State Customs Committee, State Committee for Work with Diaspora, State Agency for Citizen Service and Social Innovation under the President, State Water Resources Agency, State Migration Service, State Border Service, Intellectual Property Agency, and heads of relevant departments and divisions of ANAS.
